Inspired by permaculture, perma-cinema refers to a cinematic approach deeply rooted in sustainability--encompassing filmmaking, daily life, and community building. Set in the context of Hong Kong, an island-city shaped by border politics, neoliberal pressures, and cultural hybridity, perma-cinema also serves as a form of self-sustaining art, which acts to maintain one's own autonomy of memory and affect against the societal inertia and isolation amid global and local upheavals. The artists' film and art practices are rooted in their own ways of cultivating sustainable and equitable living, such as practicing urban farming, village sojourns, running a community vegan restaurant, and various forms of cultural activism. Their gradual, resilient, and introspective endeavors reflect our era's scarcest resource: hope. Far from fleeting optimism, but a "slow hope," as German environmental historian Christof Mauch describes it--one forged through endurance of trauma, despair, and crisis. It is a communal, incremental narrative, distinct from the glare of technological futurism, yet a vital force in confronting planetary challenges. Under this screening theme, the artists will present recent and in-progress films, followed by an online discussion. Artists include (in alphabetical order): Chan Hau Chun: an independent documentary filmmaker and photographer. Her films have always shed light on marginal communities in Hong Kong's urban dwelling with sensitive and respectful portraits. In recent years, she has embraced a more micro-material scrutiny on urban-rural landscape of both natural and built structures. https://www.chanhauchun.com/ Chan Ting: a multidisciplinary artist working with diverse medium and poetic dialogue among image and sound. She often works with found material, urban space and natural elements, coordinating them with a multisensorial experience. Her current film project explores human-bird relationship via birdwatching and rural life in the Hong Kong New Territories. https://chan-ting.com/ Huang Ting: a multi-media storyteller and filmmaker whose practice has connected her with broader Hong Kong social art tissues and self-organizing creative grassroot units. She has been living and creating in the rural village in the New Territories for the recent years. Her current work focuses on the ecology of borders. Lo Lai Lai Natalie: a prolific ecoartist, farmer and researcher. She has been practicing farming with the local farming collective Sangwoodgoon for more than fifteen years in the city's northern rural area. Opening: Villa Rom*nja - planning for needs, June 18, 2025, 6 pm at Synnika

Dear friends of Synnika, feel cordially invited to our upcoming opening of "Villa Rom*nja - planning for needs" [1] June 18, 2025, 6 pm at Synnika Liebe Freund*innen von Synnika, fühlt euch herzlich eingeladen zur kommenden Eröffnung von "Villa Rom*nja - eine Bedarfsplanung" [1] 18. Villa Rom*nja is about the social realities and needs for housing of Rom*nja in Frankfurt/Main. Many Rom*nja still live in precarious conditions: in apartments that are too small, in overcrowded emergency accommodation, many without a permanent home and without public visibility. This project not only aims to raise awareness, but also to create space for encounters and the joint development of perspectives. Since its foundation in June 2019, Synnika has been working on various events with the Förderverein Roma e.V., whose social counselling center is located in our immediate neighbourhood on the ground floor of the NiKa housing project. Together, we discussed the working conditions in Frankfurt's construction boom, the history of the persecution of Roma in Germany and their current living and housing situation in Frankfurt/Main. In cooperation with the Förderverein Roma e.V., the filmmaker Ursula Schmidt Pallmer and the architecture studio social.form, an exhibition project has now been created at Synnika that translates this process into an early housing requirement plan. Ursula Schmidt Pallmer has already worked with Romnja from the Frankfurt community in various film projects. Her interviews for the Villa Rom*nja project show people with different housing needs. Some have large families and wish for correspondingly large apartments, others would like to have designable outdoor areas for gardening and a life with pets and farm animals, some dream of entire city districts with shopping facilities, a church and community center. What all the wishes expressed have in common is that they are not fundamentally different from what a majority of people hope for in their lives: a reliable, manageable form of housing that provides security, social participation and a sense of belonging. The architects at social.form were commissioned to find a visual language for the ideas expressed in the interviews that would translate these needs into a visual plan. social.form deliberately used the same tools that are currently used for the construction projects of the majority society: Computer-aided models, animations, AI-generated graphics of interior and exterior spaces - designs that can be found in Synnika as moving camera shots alongside the interviews, as well as in a postcard stand. With this project, we want to emphasize what also becomes clear in the interviews, that the needs of Roma could be realized at any time with the means available to (social) housing construction. In the course of the project, it quickly became clear that this was not about a single building for a homogeneous social group, but rather about a neighborhood of mixed housing needs. These are not alien to the rest of society; on the contrary, they are largely congruent with housing policy requirements, particularly with regard to family and age-appropriate living layouts and the expansion of shared spaces. The postcards can be sent to people who may find their own needs reflected in the images or who can simply make a contribution to the realization of the building designs for Rom*nja. Political pressure is needed above all for the next steps after this assessment of needs. The Förderverein Roma e.V. has been working on this for decades. The first proposal for a house for Roma in Frankfurt was put forward back in the 1990s, and since then the association has repeatedly put the issue on the agenda - originally in the form of a demand for a cultural center for the community, and then increasingly for housing for people in particularly precarious accommodation. Villa Rom*nja is part of an ongoing political struggle for inclusive, secure housing - for Rom*nja, and everyone seeking a home. Cooperation partners: For over 30 years, the Förderverein Roma e.V. in Frankfurt am Main has been committed to the equal participation of Roma and Sintizza in society. The core of its work is general social counseling on topics such as healthcare, discrimination, right of residence and education. The association runs the "Schaworalle" daycare center and is active in outpatient youth welfare. It also offers vocational training projects for young and adult Roma. The association also organizes cultural events and campaigns for intercultural encounters and against all forms of racism against Roma and Sintizza. https://www.foerdervereinroma.de Ursula Schmidt Pallmer has lived and worked as a filmmaker in Frankfurt/Main since 2003. Since completing her degree in cultural studies and aesthetic practice with a focus on film at the University of Hildesheim, she has been continuously developing her film practice. It is always important to her to create trusting spaces in which people can open up and are encouraged to confidently share their perspectives. In her documentary work, she prefers to be observant and reserved, but depending on the project, she also works in a staged way and as part of a team. Since 2009, she has been imparting her knowledge in teaching and workshops, including at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in the field of culture and media. Synnika has evolved from the engagement with the drastic urban developments of recent years. The space is located in the ground-floor of the NIKA.haus, a former office and store building at the intersection of Niddastrasse and Karlstraße. Through the initiative of its residents the building was collectivized and integrated into the trans-regional Syndicate of Tenements. As isolating as the current urban realities might appear to its inhabitants, they are at the same time increasingly comparable on a global level. Thus we are interested in linking up with protagonists from different contexts. We host visual interventions, workshops, discussions, meetings and other formats relating to this common environment. Dieses Projekt will nicht nur Aufmerksamkeit schaffen, sondern auch Raum für Begegnung und eine gemeinsame Entwicklung von Perspektiven. Seit Gründung im Juni 2019 arbeitet Synnika in unterschiedlichen Veranstaltungen mit dem Förderverein Roma e. V. zusammen, dessen Sozialberatung sich in unserer direkten Nachbarschaft im Erdgeschoss des Hausprojekts NiKa befindet. Wir diskutierten gemeinsam über die Arbeitsverhältnisse im Frankfurter Bauboom, die Geschichte der Verfolgung von Roma in Deutschland sowie die heutige Lebens- und Wohnsituation in Frankfurt am Main. In Kooperation mit dem Förderverein Roma e.V., der Filmemacherin Ursula Schmidt Pallmer und dem Architekturbüro social.form ist nun ein Ausstellungsprojekt im Synnika entstanden, das diesen Prozess in eine erste wohnpolitische Bedarfsplanung übersetzt. Ursula Schmidt Pallmer arbeitete bereits in verschiedenen Filmprojekten mit Romnja aus der Frankfurter Community zusammen. Ihre Interviews für das Projekt Villa Rom*nja zeigen Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Wohnbedürfnissen. Manche haben große Familien und wünschen sich entsprechend große Wohnungen, andere wünschen sich gestaltbare Aussenflächen und ein Leben mit Haus- und Nutztieren, manche träumen von ganzen Stadtvierteln mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Kirche und Gemeindezentrum. Allen geäußerten Wünschen ist gemeinsam, dass sie sich nicht grundlegend von dem unterscheiden, was ein Großteil der Menschen sich für ihr Leben erhoffen: eine verlässliche, gestaltbare Wohnform, die Sicherheit, soziale Teilhabe und ein Gefühl von Zugehörigkeit ermöglicht. Die Architekt*innen von social.form wurden beauftragt, für die in den Interviews geäußerten Ideen eine Bildsprache zu finden, die diese Bedarfe in eine erste Planung übersetzt. social.form nutzen dafür bewusst die gleichen Werkzeuge, die derzeit auch für die Bauprojekte der Mehrheitsgesellschaft Anwendung finden: Computergestützte Modelle, Animationen, KI-generierte Grafiken von Innen- und Außenräumen - Entwürfe, die im Synnika als Kamerafahrten neben den Interviews auch in einem Postkartenständer zu finden sind. Wir wollen mit diesem Projekt betonen, was auch in den Interviews deutlich wird, dass die Bedürfnisse von Roma jederzeit mit den Mitteln, die dem (Sozialen) Wohnungsbau zur Verfügung stehen, realisiert werden könnten. Im Laufe des Projektes wurde schnell klar, dass es hier nicht um ein einzelnes Gebäude für eine homogene soziale Gruppe geht, sondern vielmehr um eine Nachbarschaft gemischter Wohnbedürfnisse. Diese sind der genannten Mehrheitsgesellschaft nicht fremd, im Gegenteil, sie sind weitgehend deckungsgleich mit wohnungspolitischen Anforderungen, besonders mit Blick auf familien- und altersgerechte Wohngrundrisse und den Ausbau von Gemeinschaftsflächen. Die Postkarten können an Menschen verschickt werden, die möglicherweise eigene Bedürfnisse in den Bildern wiederfinden oder einfach einen Beitrag zur Realisierung der Bauentwürfe für Rom*nja leisten können. Für die weiteren Schritte nach dieser Bedarfsplanung braucht es vor allem politischen Druck. Daran arbeitet der Förderverein Roma e.V. bereits seit Jahrzehnten. Der erste Vorschlag für ein Haus für Roma in Frankfurt wurde bereits in den 1990er Jahren vorgebracht, seitdem hat der Förderverein das Thema immer wieder auf die Agenda gesetzt - ursprünglich in Form einer Forderung nach einem Kulturzentrum für die Community, danach ging es immer mehr um Wohnraum für besonders prekär untergebrachte Menschen. Das Projekt Villa Rom*nja ist ein solidarischer Beitrag zu diesem Prozess, der darauf abzielt, die politischen Rahmenbedingungen auf reale Bedürfnisse auszurichten, was die Lebensbedingungen aller Menschen grundlegend verbessern würde. Kooperationspartner*innen: Seit über 30 Jahren engagiert sich der Förderverein Roma e.V. in Frankfurt am Main für die gleichberechtigte gesellschaftliche Teilhabe von Rom*nja und Sintizza. Veranstaltungsankünding: "Zuhause ist, wo niemand dich hinauswerfen kann"

Liebe Synnika Freund*innen, gerne möchten wir Sie auf eine kommende Veranstaltung im Rahmen des Projektes Villa Romn*ja im Synnika hinweisen. Datum: 07.05.2025 Uhrzeit: 18.00 Uhr -english below- "Zuhause ist, wo niemand dich hinauswerfen kann": Einige Überlegungen zur ethnografischen Forschung mit rumänischen Roma In diesem Vortrag wird Andreea Racles über die ethnografische Forschung reflektieren, die sie mit Roma-Personen in einer nordöstlichen Stadt Rumäniens durchgeführt hat. Der Fokus liegt auf den wohnungsbezogenen Bedingungen, den Aspirationen und den Anstrengungen, die Roma – hauptsächlich Frauen – investieren, um Zugehörigkeit in einem sozialpolitischen Kontext zu verhandeln, der von anhaltendem anti-Roma Rassismus geprägt ist. Im Hinblick auf ein sozio-kulturelles Umfeld, in dem das eigene Haus als eine Verwirklichung der eigenen Würde und sozialer Anerkennung angesehen wird, wird darauf verwiesen, wie Haushaltsgegenstände und die Wohnung eine Rolle in den Narrativen der Selbstidentifizierung spielen. Als ausgebildete Sozialanthropologin und promovierte Soziologin hat Andreea Racleș an der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen sowie der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt geforscht und unterrichtet. Sie hat zur materiellen Kultur des Alltags geforscht und insbesondere auf Grundlage ihrer ethnografischen Studien mit rumänischen Roma veröffentlicht. Im Rahmen ihrer aktuellen Tätigkeit bei DaMigra e.V. setzt sie sich für die Rechte und Interessen von Frauen mit Migrations- und Fluchterfahrung ein. Sie ist Mitherausgeberin einer Sonderausgabe zu Intersektionalität in der interpretativen Sozialforschung, die in diesem Jahr erscheinen wird. Außerdem ist sie Mitglied im Beirat der Zeitschrift JEMIE (Journal of Ethnopolitics and Minority Issues in Europe). "Home is Where Nobody Can Throw You Out": A Few Reflections on Ethnographic Research with Romanian Roma In this talk, Andreea Racles will reflect on the ethnographic research she conducted with Roma individuals in a northeastern Romanian town. The focus will be on the housing-related conditions, aspirations of and efforts invested by Roma people—mainly women—in negotiating belonging in a socio-political context shaped by persistent anti-Roma racism. Referring to asocio-cultural setting in which one’s house is regarded as a materialization of dignity and deservingness, she will explore how domestic objects and the inhabited space play a role in self-identification narratives. OPEN CALL Interdisciplinary art and research project PATINA / ПАТИНА Together with Grupa arhitekata, and artist Mathias Weinfurter, Synnika e.V. organizes the interdisciplinary art and research project PATINA / ПАТИНА. During a 12-day journey in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia, participants will visit around twenty antifascist World War II and Holocaust memorial sites, and develop multidisciplinary contributions that reflect on these memorials and the topic of remembrance culture. The contributions can take various forms, both documentary and artistic – such as photography, texts, illustrations, performances, or interventions. We invite applications from individuals based in German-speaking countries and the Balkan region practicing visual and performing arts, art history, journalism, design, social and historical sciences, architecture, photography, or related fields. The working language is English. All costs for travel, accommodation, and meals will be covered by the program. This question is posed by science fiction author Ursula K. Le Guin in her essay "The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction". Le Guin tells an alternative history of humanity that places collection and the collective above power and growth and "uses storytelling as a tool for shaping the world." It is less about an accurate display of human history than about disrupting familiar narrative structures, rewriting old stories and showing that narratives can change our view of the world and even the world itself. Following these thoughts, Lea Johanna Becker applies the carrier bag theory to design in the sense of a carrier bag practice. She expands this to include the act of collecting, opening up her work from the individualistic "me" to the collaborative "we". The result is an interdisciplinary exhibition of projects, texts and artistic explorations of bags, the act of collecting, holding and keeping, and of feminist utopias. The exhibition is accompanied by a modular publication, the contents of which can be collected and compiled individually on site. Heute Abend eröffnen wir ab 19 Uhr unsere neue Ausstellung »Die entwendete Situation. Enthüllungen aus dem Kabinett des Doctor Z.«. Nach der Eöffnung geht Synnika für 3 Wochen bis zum 10. August in Sommerpause. Die Ausstellung ist dann bis zum 6.9. zu sehen: Zassi, Claude Thomas Cazaré, hat ab Anfang der 1980er Jahre mit Flugschriften, Sprühaktionen, dadaistischen Wort- und Bildmontagen, Aufrufen und Plakaten versucht, die Absurditäten und Widersprüche des gesellschaftlichen Status quo zu entlarven. Seine gesellschaftskritischen Provokationen und Interventionen zwischen epischer Kaprize und flüchtiger Subversivität waren bewusst konfrontativ und hinterließen oft ein zwiespältiges und mehrdeutiges Gefühl bei seinem Publikum und bei ihm selbst. Am 29. Juni 2020 ist er im Alter von 54 Jahren unerwartet gestorben. Die Ausstellung zeigt Fragmente aus der Geschichte seiner Aneignung: Zassis Lebenskunst und Aktionswerk zwischen Rüsselsheim, Frankfurt am Main, Berlin und Ko Pha-ngan (Thailand). »Filosofische Gespraeche am spaeten Nachmittag mit meiner Sprachlehrerin. HEUTE, 18:30 Uhr: Monster Mansion

Liebe Freund:innen des Synnika e.V., Gerne möchten wir euch auf diesem Wege auf eine Gast-Veranstaltung im Synnika aufmerksam machen. Ab 18:30 Uhr lädt das Performance-Kollektiv Monster Mansion unter dem Titel "IT WANTS YOUR BRAIN" zu einem Abend mit theoretischer Auseinandersetzung und anschließender Podiumsrunde. Was können wir von Monstern lernen und wie können wir sie auch diskursiv zu Verbündeten machen? Selena Krieg, Dr. Felix Kosok und Dr. Hendrik Pletz präsentieren in drei Impulsvorträgen ihre akademische Arbeit mit dem Thema und erklären, warum wir eine monströse Wissenschaft brauchen. Monster Mansion ist eine begehbare queerfeministische Geisterbahn, die nach dem politischen und widerständigen Potenzial von Monstern fragt. - Herzliche Einladung - zu unserer kommenden Eröffnung im Synnika: "Convergence des Temps 时空伴随 [1]", von 44 Monthly mit den Künstler*innen Gong Yi, Wan Qing und Chen Yifei, am Freitag den 26.04.2024, um 18:00, mit Vortrag und Film-Screening. Vortrag: 18:30 - 19:30, Wu Qin & Chen Yifei. Einführung in den Hintergrund und die Arbeitsmethoden von 44 Monthly sowie einige transnationale Kuriositäten über die sozialen Bewegungen des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts in China. Screening: 19:30 - 20:30 Three Giant Salamanders in the Basement, 2023, Regie: Wan Qing | 49 Minuten Ausstellungszeit: 26.04. - 15.05.2024 44 Monthly ist eine kollektive Zeitschrift, die Anfang 2020 während der Corona-Pandemie in Süd-China entstanden ist. Seitdem wurden 10 Ausgaben veröffentlicht. Die Mitwirkenden beteiligen sich an einem experimentellen Arbeitsablauf, zunächst online bis weitere Formen und Materialien hinzukommen. Die Ausstellung der jüngsten Aktivitäten und Publikationen von 44 Monthly im Synnika wird eine neue Ausgabe hervorbringen, die Ende 2024 im HBStation Contemporary Art Research Center in Guangzhou (CHN) und in Frankfurt (Main) veröffentlicht wird. „Convergence des Temps" bezieht sich auf interkontinentale Einflüsse innerhalb der sozial-revolutionären Bewegungen in China zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts. Der Ausstellungstitel steht auch für die sozialen Formen von Ansteckung, die die Produktion und Verbreitung von 44 Monthly während der Corona-Krise verstärkte, als die Konvergenz von Zeit und Ort zu einem medizinischen und polizeilichen Grund für soziale Distanzierung wurde. Während der Lockdown-Maßnahmen wurde die Zeitschrift zu einer dynamischen Form kollektiver Praxis und Interaktion, die es den in verschiedenen Städten, vor allem im Süden Chinas (z. B. Guangzhou, Shanghai, Kunming und Hongkong), lebenden Teilnehmer*innen ermöglichte, sich jenseits des Lockdowns zu vernetzen. Die verschiedenen Ausgaben des Magazins rekonstruieren eine lokale und transnationale Geschichte radikaler Theorie und Praxis, die sich zum Beispiel auf die so genannte Pariser Gruppe beziehen, oder die Zeitschrift Tianyi Bao (übersetzt: Natürliche Gerechtigkeit, veröffentlicht in Tokio), oder die erste Tofu-Fabrik in Frankreich, die von chinesischen Anarchist*innen gegründet wurde - diese Initiativen aus dem frühen 20. Jahrhundert realisierten einen transnationalen Austausch auch durch die Übersetzung von Pamphleten, Briefen, Artikeln und Büchern revolutionärer Autor*innen wie He Zhen, Ba Jin, Liu Shifu, Li Shizeng, Emma Goldman, Élisée Reclus, Kropotkin, Marx und vielen anderen. Die Überschneidung dieser Zeit mit der unseren ist bezeichnend: In den letzten Jahrzehnten verlagerten die westlichen Zentren der globalen Wirtschaft zentrale Infrastrukturen in Regionen wie das Perlflussdelta, das sich in der Gegenwart zum größten urbanen Industriegebiet der Welt, mit Guangzhou als Haupthafenstadt, entwickelt hat. Unterstützt durch HBStation Contemporary Art Research Center in Guangzhou werden 44 Monthly und Synnika über diese ökonomischen Beziehungen hinaus gemeinsame Konzepte und Methoden entwickeln, um neue Veröffentlichungen zu realisieren. 44 Monthly ist eine Erweiterung von Theater 44 und hat sich aus einer gemeinsamen Erfahrung mit COVID-19 im Süden Chinas entwickelt. Theater 44 ist seit 2016 als kollaborative Plattform mit Teilnehmern aus der ganzen Welt aktiv. Kuratoren, Künstler, Filmemacher, Forscher, Journalisten, Aktivisten und Musiker bilden das Theater 44, und jedes Projekt bringt unterschiedliche Konstellationen zusammen. Anfang 2020 rief das Theater 44-Kollektiv das Publikationsprojekt 44 Monthly ins Leben, ein Gemeinschaftsexperiment im Selbstverlag, bei dem Einzelpersonen, die sich in Quarantäne befanden, online zusammenkamen und durch gemeinsame Schreib-, Redaktions- und Gestaltungsprojekte temporäre Gemeinschaften bildeten. Bis heute hat 44 Monthly 9 Publikationen, 4 Kurzfilme, 1 Hörspiel und zwei multimediale Rauminstallationen veröffentlicht. Nach dem Lockdown unternahmen die Mitglieder Exkursionen in Städte wie Sanya, Yangjiang und Shanghai, die zu weiteren gemeinsamen Projekten führten. 44 Monthly erprobt interdependente Gestaltung und reagiert auf soziale Fragen durch ethische Organisation und Alltagspraxis. -- www.synnika.space [2] Synnika e.V. Nach der erfolgreichen Performance "Chinoserie Grand Gay Wedding" in Kooperation mit Queer Squad Ffm, begrüßen wir das Performance-Duo nun zu ihrer zweiten Veranstaltung im Synnika. Lesung mit Achim Szepanski am 28.März und Little Greenhouse of Chinoise ab 14.4.

März, 20:00h KAPITALISMUS IM DELIRIUM VON SPEKULATION, SIMULATION UND KATASTROPHE Der Frankfurter Autor, Theoretiker und Gründer des Musiklabels Force Inc. / Mille Plateaux Achim Szepanski liest im Synnika aus seinen zuletzt erschienenen Büchern »Die Ekstase der Spekulation – Kapitalismus im Zeitalter der Katastrophe« (Galerie der abseitigen Künste/ NON.Derivate, Hamburg 2023) und »In the Delirium of the Simulation –Baudrillard Revisited« (becoming.press, Berlin 2024). Im Anschluss gibt es Musik von Force Inc. / Mille Plateaux Künstler*innen. »Spekulativer als spekulativ, das ist die Ekstase des spekulativen Kapitals. Mit einem Blick auf Baudrillard erweist sich die Spekulation als der Modus einer schwindelerregenden Vervielfältigung des Kapitals, als eine transfinite Pornographie des Geldes, die uns totalitär in Beschlag nimmt. Es kündigt sich ein schwereloses Finanz-Kapital an, das in einer Orbitalbewegung mit Lichtgeschwindigkeit zirkuliert.« Achim Szepanski initiierte das international bekannte Netzwerk um die Labels Force Inc., Mille Plateaux, Position Chrome, Communism Records uvm., das die Entwicklung der elektronischen Musik von Frankfurt aus mitgeprägte. Im Jahr 2012 veröffentlichte er die Romane »Saal 6« und »Pole Position«. Danach mehrere Bücher zur Theorie des Marxismus im Laika-Verlag. Sein Buch »Kapital und Macht im 21. Jahrhundert« (2018, Laika-Verlag) erschien zuletzt in englischer und chinesischer Übersetzung. The multi-media art project created by performance duo Yumo & Ziwei draws from the Chinese "Green House" (青楼), a place of sex work in ancient China. The Greenhouse served as a social space that embraced the fluidity of sex and gender, where sex workers also took on roles as artists and entertainers. At Synnika, the duo aims to carve out a space of emancipation for their gender, a place where beauty and sexuality can be appreciated — at a fair rate. Through the format of erotic comedy and an exhibition of photography and Chinese ink painting, Yumo & Ziwei seek to narrate their personal stories as queer immigrants living in Europe where their bodies are often denied, objectified, exoticized, fetishized, and commodified. "Little Greenhouse of Chinoise" is the second project by Yumo & Ziwei at Synnika, after last year's performance evening "Grand Gay Wedding" in collaboration with Queersquad Frankfurt.
